IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT THE SEAMLESS TUBES

Hi there ! Let us talk about the seamless tubes today. If this concept is new for you, let me explain how they are made and what they are used for. Seamless tubes and bars of steel, are used for diverse purposes, most importantly in the exhange of liquids. Seamless tube helps a variety of liquids to pass through them. Some of them bear a very high tempreture. Seamless tubes vary in shapes and size based on the type of usage. Just as the liquids passing through them are of different types, its production process also varies.

A BIT OF THE MAKING PROCESS

A whole lot of seamless tubes are made through the method of rolling or by using the rotary piercing. Have you heard about the cold drawn seamless mechanical tubes? This type of mechanical tubes and pipes are produced by a cold or by rolling method to give it a standardized diameter. Unlike other steel tubes, this cold drawn mechanical tubes are stronger and can carry heavier loads.

Seamless tubing is made using the rotary piercing and rolling method. A conditioned steel round bar is heated to a suitable forging temperature and pierced on a mill which works the bar, causing it to flow around a piercer point forming a hollow billet. This billet is then roller elongated in a succession of mills with a mandrel or plug to support the interior. Finally, the steel tube is sized by further rolling on the OD. The cold drawn seamless pipes and tubes can also be used as a finishing product or they can be machinized also. This tubes are highly quality oriented, and have a guaranteed assurance with a standardized licence bearing.

In general, the size of a seamless tube  ranges from 3 to 6 metres. However, the needs vary according to the work and they are supplied in different sizes.

IT IS A TUBE WITH BENEFITS

The quality assurance of either seamless or mechanical tubes solely relies on their methods of production. In real, both of them provide equal satisfaction and necessary quality in thier own work. A seamless tube is used where one has to combine small diameters with thick heavy walls. They are built with a better finishing touch in smaller sizes. An ideal seamless tube can be of 3/4th and 1/2 OD approx and a surface finishing of 15RA.

Seamless tubes have a prominent similarness in a circular direction and thus are quite resilient in transferring hot boiling liquids, pressure and wrenching. This is the reason why seamless tubes are widely used in the process of drilling, and pumping out the naturel gas and petroleum.

Some other methods of seamless tube manufacturing are as under:
•    Sink drawing
•    plug drawing
•    Rod drawing and lastly shaping the finished product.

Seamless mechanical tubes are said to be the supporting factor of the automobile induistry. Salient advantages of a cold drawn mechanical tube are:

They bear higher capacity and are heavy weight.

Their mechanical capacity is galvanized by the usage of innovative technology.

They are highly accurate and their micro structure has a splendid alikeness.

Lastly, mechanical tubes have a superb surface finishing, giving you the best result.
